The Pappilanniemi shore route travels the river shoreline close to Sodankylä village centre, and its starting point (and information boards) can be found next to the parking lot of the Old Church. The walking trail covers a distance of 1.9 km and has a number of spots along the route for resting and enjoying a the views across the river. Pappilanniemi is a relaxing and beautiful area for a walk with its various flora and fauna and it winds its way to the intersection of the Kitinen river and Jeesiö river.
