Kaunispää is an easily accessible fell thats over 400 meters above sea level and situated on the boundary of Urho Kekkonen National Park. A climbing, winding road leads to the top from the village in Saariselkä. Atop there's a cafe and a viewing tower that offers excellent 360 degree views of Sompio Strict Nature Reserve, Urho Kekkonen National Park, and Hammastunturi Wilderness Area. The backside of Kaunispää is a skiing area in the winter time and during the summer, numerous hiking trails can be accessed from the parking area.
